UK Implementation Deadline

The deadline for PSD2 implementation is now the 14 March 2022 for the UK. From 1 June this year, card schemes will gradually begin their implementation. We recommend merchants enable 3D secure before this date to ensure no disruption to payment processing as the ramp-up begins

Strong Customer Authentication makes payments more secure for both your business and the customer by adding an extra layer of protection known as two-factor authentication (2FA). When SCA comes into effect, customers will be required to provide at least two forms of identification when making a payment; something the customer knows such as a pin or password, something the customer possesses such as a smartphone or something the person is such as biometric fingerprints.

The first step to achieving SCA compliance is to activate 3D Secure within your MySagePay account. Those on our PI or Direct integration will need to undertake some additional development.
